The brand new ABB Omnicore IRB 1100 has arrived.

The first impressions is that the new teach pendant and its GUI (Graphical User Interface) are very intuitive, which is great as this is going to be a training robot. The GUI is very easy to understand and even a novice would be able to have the robot up and running in no time at all without needing a manual. It still utilises the RAPID programming protocol.

The controller inherits the top class motion control and path accuracy of the previous ABB controllers while being 50% smaller. It has a very compact 19″ rack assembly making installation easy and its connectivity makes it very flexible and of high industry standard.
